DGS, a Cyberport community FinTech company, has made history and ushered in a new era of philately by launching China’s first-ever digital stamps on the Polygon public blockchain.
The innovative digital stamps are the digital twins of China Post’s previously issued “Year of Jia Chen” special postage stamp. Each digital stamp is identified by a unique number on the Polygon blockchain. Philatelists will be delighted to immortalise and personalise their collections by permanently inscribing their name, birthday, or dedicated message on the Polygon blockchain. Accompanying the launch is an exclusive set of physical gold postal stamps, which are limited to 10,000 pieces.
DGS is a Hong Kong-based FinTech start-up that specialises in issuing digital assets anchored to physical gold, developing quantitative precious metal investment strategies, and researching and operating NFTs. DGS chose Polygon to store the digital stamps due to its scalability, low transaction costs, high transaction speed, and strong security, as all of these qualities are essential for digitising collectibles. Beyond that, creating and moving digital stamps on-chain also unlocks a new paradigm for integrating the digital economy with traditional cultural innovations while showcasing China’s dynamism in the Web3 domain.
Cyberport expressed enthusiasm for watching community companies lead the way in Web3 applications and innovation. As Hong Kong’s Web3 hub, Cyberport remains committed to providing dedicated support to this burgeoning field, fostering growth, and realising the transformative potential of Web3 technologies.
