The pursuit of better health span, not just longer lifespan, has seen an uptick ever since the pandemic prompted many people to take a more active interest in their wellness. Cyberport Creative Micro Fund alumnus Nurum (Peak Technologies Ltd) aims to help people manage and even reverse their diabetes, pre-diabetes, fatty liver disease, obesity, and other metabolic disorders while also improving their overall well-being. It is believed that these conditions currently might affect more than a couple of million people in Hong Kong and represent a significant opportunity for HealthTech innovation.
Nurum’s innovative model converges telehealth with keto menus tailored to Asian tastes, continuous, clinical glucose and ketone monitoring, and personalised guidance from functional medical practitioners, dieticians, and nutritionists. These services are seamlessly integrated into the Nurum app, transforming it into a central hub for proactive health management.
Having successfully completed its ideation programme at Cyberport, the start-up is on the cusp of introducing its suite of services to the public. These include Asian ketogenic meals, health monitors, health coaching, medical consultations, and dietary supplementation support, encompassing a holistic approach to metabolic health.
Nurum is concurrently in discussions with major medical insurance providers in Hong Kong to support their clients in managing their metabolic diseases and transitioning to a healthier, ketogenic lifestyle.
Looking ahead, Nurum’s sights are set on expansion across the Greater Bay Area, aspiring to reach an even larger number of people and help them manage their health and reverse metabolic disorders.
