To strengthen Hong Kong’s cybersecurity infrastructure, Cyberport signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Integrity Technology, a leading cybersecurity and data security enterprise in Mainland China. At the signing ceremony, both parties announced a number of initiatives to improve Hong Kong’s overall cybersecurity, promoting ecosystem and industry development, and enhancing its I&T competitiveness.
The partnership will see Integrity Technology establish its international headquarters at Cyberport. It will use its unique testing and assessment strengths as well as its extensive experience in cyber ranges to assess potential cyber threats to Hong Kong’s smart city development. Furthermore, the company will invest in R&D of security products and solutions tailored to the Hong Kong market, and conduct simulated cyber-attacks and testing to assess security risks and vulnerabilities in talent, systems, and data during the digital transformation of enterprises.
One of the highlights of the collaboration is the establishment of the Hong Kong Digital Wind Tunnel Evaluation Centre, which was inaugurated at the signing ceremony. With an initial HK$100 million investment from Integrity Technology, the centre will reinforce Hong Kong’s cyber-attack and digital infrastructure resilience while also providing a safe network environment for new economy industry development.
To support sustainable growth, both parties will engage in talent development. In addition, Integrity Technology plans to hire up to 1,000 people in Hong Kong over the next five years. By joining the Cyberport Technology Network, the company will further empower Cyberport community start-ups with advanced cybersecurity technologies as well as technical and financial support.
Professor Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, praised the initiative for bringing advanced cybersecurity resources to Hong Kong as well as instilling new thinking and momentum in cyber defence and smart city development.
In addition, Simon Chan, Chairman of Cyberport, expressed his confidence in Integrity Technology’s ability to foster a secure digital ecosystem for AI and Web3 technologies.
Other projects in the works include a digital security certification framework for the Greater Bay Area’s cybersecurity and data security talent and systems.
